Yup, we have stepped into the year of 2017 for 22 days now. So what have you been up to?
“Long list of new year resolutions”?
“New year, new look”?
“New year, new me”?
“2016 been bad, hope 2017 will be a good one”?
Which one were you? To me, actually neither. I do not know whether it’s a good thing or bad thing.
Since young, I’m not really a new year resolution person.
Some of the things I can’t plan too much ahead. Some of the things I can.
I saw a video from Facebook about 3 weeks back, speech of new year resolution by a cute little girl.
Yeah, you should probably watch that. You won’t regret clicking that link I promise.
She’s right about one thing. New Year resolution isn’t about one big decision that you made on 31 Dec and post them all over social media to let the world know. It’s about thousands of little moments/changes you did over the year.
For eg, “New Year Resolution: Put down weight by 10 pounds”
Let’s face it, you won’t get that overnight. Well, maybe, if you go through lipo-suction.
Okay, what I’m saying is you change a little day by day.
Wake up 30 minutes earlier for a short workout, cut down on your daily carbs intake for a period of time, eat healthier, more fruits and veggie intake.
If at the end of year, your weight gone down by 8 pounds; does that mean you fail your new year resolution?
10 pounds would be fantastic, but, No! You didn’t fail.
You made changes, you progresses. I would say you achieved what you planned, probably much more than a lot of others whose New Year Resolution is to put down weight but continue to munch on junks with zero exercise.
I have to admit that, this post is not only a reminder to all of you people out there, but also as a reminder to myself.
After all, it is always easier said than done.
But I will try.
Change is the only constant in life
