Homemade Blueberry Jam

I was supposed to just buy cereal when I went to the supermarket after work just now. And I passed by these boxes of blueberries on sale! So I just grabbed 3 boxes thinking to cook them down into jam.

Ingredient:

3 boxes of blueberries

Sugar

Lemon Juice

Lemon Zest

A little bit of water (optional)

Methods:

1. Rinse the blueberries and let the water drip so it’s not too wet

2. Put blueberries, sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest into sauce pan and put to medium heat. I actually started it on higher heat then turn down the heat after the blueberries start to burst.

3. You can adjust the sweetness and acidity of the mixture while cooking

4. I cooked for like 20 minutes until the mixture starts to thicken, then continue to cook for like 5-10minutes (this depends on your blueberries and amount of liquid you added in)

5. Once it turn into semi-liquid/paste texture, or rather you can feel it’s like jam texture then turn of heat

6. Pour the mixture into air tight container (I used Mason Jars)

Notes:

1. You can also add in cinnamon but I dislike the flavour in jam hence I didn’t plus I want to keep it simple

2. I rinsed my jars with boiling hot water and let it dry completely before pour the jam inside

Tomorrow I shall know how’s the end product texture and taste.

xoxo,
